Calif., Los Angeles Lines: 17 One guy at work here got in the habit (at CarlsJr.) of ordering: "One hamburger (or whatever) WITHOUT CHEESE". This was amusing, because the counter person would (sometimes) ask "with cheese", then be confused, or sometimes try to tell the cash register to ring up a burger, no cheese. The cash register, of course, barfed, leaving the poor counter person baffled. One person was actually alert enough to explain that the cheese was extra, and so you could not get a hamburger 'without' it. That person was, however, unable to ring up the order until it was repeated as "One hamburger." "without cheese, right?" "right." You should try this at McD's. It will probably crash their system too. -mark -- This space available Written: mark thompson arpanet: THOMPSON@USC-ECLC usenet: { ihnp4 | hplabs | akgua | sdcsvax} !sdcrdcf!uscvax!oberon!thompson
