Commercials saying POP are broadcast in the midwest and other regional areas that customarily use that term. AND, commercials using that weird noun SODA are broadcast on the east coast, where SODA is customarily used instead of the proper term - POP. :-) I recently had an argument with a friend over this subject. After our discussion, I came to the realization that, when my ancestors moved west they left all their bad habits behind such as New Jersey, and using the word SODA. Uh, I take that back, they did manage to bring one bad habit with them . . . we call it Cleveland, Ohio.
