Look at the drivel that spews from net-nerd after net-nerd. And they're the literate ones. As a class, we hackers are very well paid but not very well-read. It is great fun to play all day and get a salary for it, but it's a trap, too. Like a kid in a sandbox, the borders of reality close in--the job defines our entire universe. A Boolean universe, with digital rules, where all the bugs are identifiable (with enough printf's). And thus we become--if we weren't already--neurotic, narrow-minded pariahs who revel in simple solutions to everything. Present company excepted, of course--computers is merely what I do, *NOT* who I am. -- *** *** JE MAINTIENDRAI ***** ***** ****** ****** 30 Apr 85 [11 Floreal An CXCIII] ken perlow ***** ***** (312)979-7188 ** ** ** ** ..ihnp4!iwsl8!ken *** ***
