I did not like seeing the phrase "the Germans" when you really meant some Germans (i.e. Nazis). Every nationality has its share of bigots and racists. Unfortunately Germany allowed their's to come into power 50 years ago and every German who was born before 1920 or so is partially responsible if he/she did not make an effort to resist this tyranny. However, there is probably a large majority of Germans who would be offended by a statement implying that they are responsible for something they themselves despise just because of their nationality. A nation is made up of individuals, some good and some bad. For that reason we should avoid lumping them all together and making sweeping generalizations. As far as Reagan's visit is concerned, I don't recall making any mention of it in my previous flame and I would prefer to withold my opinions. It's a sensitive subject and I've got better things to do then respond to a million flames.
