Ok, I got the amulet in wizard mode.  The problem is that I had to have
a potion of confusion, ring of teleport control, scroll of
teleportation, and a dead dragon.  I eat the dragon for fire resistance,
put on the ring, quaff the potion, and then read the scroll.  Since I
mispronounce the words, I am teleported to a different level.  The ring
allows me to say which level.  I say 30.  Then it says I am teleported
to hell, but the fire resistance saves that.  From there, the amulet is
easy to get.  The whole reason for this mess is that I know of no other
way to go lower if I am in a maze.  If there is any possible way I would
appreciate any hints given.  Especially those of you who have gotten the
amulet.  This teleport thing sounds incredibly difficult to discover by
just playing, so I suspect a simpler route, although I may be wrong.
