The Realistic DX400 (brother of the Uniden CR-2021) is on sale according
to a 64th Aniversary Sale Flyer from Radio Shack for $179.95. The regular
price is $299.95. The sale ends May 20, 1985. 

These are portable synthesized digital readout receivers covering 150 khz
to 30 MHZ continuously AM/SSB/CW and 87.4-108 MHZ FM. Last year they were
"dropped" from the Uniden product line and sold on closeout (as the Uniden
CR-2021) for around $100. However Radio Shack kept their prce at $299.95.

I was fortunate to pick up a Undien CR-2021 and am quite impressed, for the
money it works great as a take-along portable. 

I think the $179.95 price for the DX400 is within reasonable limits (I
still feel $299.95 was outrageous) for this type of receiver. So for those
of you who missed to Uniden CR-2021, here is another chance.
