I You did not say how you found out that you have 50K of memory left (remember that disk storage is not memory). It really doesn't matter, since what is needed is system heap space, so you would have to have a utility that told you that. I usually got that message when I had more than two icons on the desktop. By always trashing the icon of an ejected disk, I ensured that I didn't get that message. You can always eject the disk in the internal drive by holding down the mouse button after pressing the reset button.
