CS Dept. Lines: 26 AT Xenix review: Durability: quite good. I have yet to have a crash. Twice the cp command didn't accept what I thought were valid arguments, but that's the only unexpected thing so far. Speed: about like a mildly loaded 750. Don't expect to have two compilations go at once with any speed. Only one heavy user at a time is reasonable. Functionality: The only Berkeleyism I miss is the job control - the ^Z, fg, and all that. Seems to have all the others. The C compiler occasionally doesn't know the return types of some of its own built-in functions, so they must be declared explicitly. Professional Graphics Adapter review: Speed: slow. Forget about dynamic 3-d displays. Functionality: Lots of fancy features. However, the bit masking commands don't work right, making overlays virtually impossible. Hard disk temperature theory: Our AT that went bad here (1 out of 4) was in an unheated room when it died! All the others have been in well-heated environments. There may be something to this theory. Doug Campbell doug@cornell.{UUCP|ARPA}
