Now the punks are > the 'druged-out juevinial (sp?) delinquints (sp?, I'm doing > well)'. > I have to laugh ! I was sitting on the bus yesterday with a friend who is a peace activist, among other things, and part of that generation that in the sixties ironed their hair and perturbed their elders so greatly. We saw a young woman on the street with a curiously shaved hair style and a punk outfit, and she was commenting on how strange it was. I thought this was really funny, as I pointed out that in her youth she was trying to achieve the same effect, basically. the effect being, sticking a thunb in the older generation's eye, of course. Most of the punks I know dress the way they do because they completely eschew their parent's materialist values, and alot of them think that the world will probably end tomorrow (in a radioactive flash) so they are pretty nihilistic too. Some of them are violent, but almost all of them are down on drugs because that's what the materialist, dulled-out adult world is into. -- jcpatilla "'Get stuffed !', the Harlequin replied ..."
