Note however, that the offending force was UC police - a group of frustrated
, overweight submoronic rejects.  The Berkeley City Police are very good.
In fact, a measure was passed 7-8 years ago which gave ~~0 priority to
dope busts inthe City.  Basically you have to be seen with afew pounds
before you even get questioned by a Berkeley city officer.

Oakland police enjoy a decent track record toward dead heads but they
have a nasty racial policy.  If you are black and on the strret in Oakland,
you are going to get hasseled for sure.
