It seems to me that the purpose of quotes should be to establish that someone actually said something, not to repeat the entire context of a discussion. If you feel that you have to give some context, you can summarize instead of quoting. *Then*, if someone denies having said something, you can bop him or her over the head with the quote. I am sure that people on 300 baud or hard copy terminals don't appreciate having to wade through two screens of quotes to get a four-line comment. Isaac Dimitrovsky
