I suggest that you reread my last reply on this matter carefully.
If you'll recall, I never stated that you should *ever* leave the
two dogs alone for the balance of a normal day.  When I read what you
did, I already knew the outcome.  Please work this problem out on a weekend
in controlled conditions for a few minutes at a time and work up gradually.
There is no easy way out of this.

Think about crate training also.
