I have one of those Tyco (HO) industrial switchers
decorated as ATSF #241 (red & silver).
It runs pretty well and I'm a cheapskate,
so I've started upgrading it.
So far, I have a Kadee #5 on one end, and some weathering,
and have glazed the windows with thin clear plastic of some kind.
What I'd like to know is, WHAT IS IT?
I've rummaged through the Second Diesel Spotter's Guide and the Update,
and couldn't find anything close enough to call it close enough.
It looks like a cross between a Davenport and a Plymouth.
For those of you who haven't seen the model,
it's a four-wheel fixed-frame affair, that looks something like this:

Is this model a sort of synthesis of several prototypes,
or is (was) there really such a beast?
If the latter, can someone point me to some modeling/detailing notes,
and some indication of where it's really being used and for what?
