They're just not dancing with men. Is this what upsets you? When I go out to dance, I go out to dance, not to meet men. Most of my women-friends are signifi- cantly better dancers than most men of my (even distant) acquaintance. (This is probably because when we were growing up we *worked* on learning all the dances. It was the thing to do.) I prefer dancing with a good dancer; we have more fun, and they probably won't spend the dance trying to hang on to me somewhere. If a man asks me to dance and I feel like it, I'll say yes. If I don't feel like dancing to that particular number, I'll say no. However, if I'm dancing with another woman and a man tries to cut in, assuming that I'm just dancing with a woman because there wasn't a man around, I'll tell him to get lost (politely). I rarely, if ever, ask a strange man in a club to dance if I'm already with perfectly acceptable dance partners. And, yes (to answer a previously-posted question), I get mad if *no one* I came with wants to dance, and then I'll ask someone else. But it certainly has nothing whatsoever to do with gender! A dancer without a man is like a......
