Now, come on!! Do you *really* think that anyone would do justice to it?
Hollywood has proven time and time again that it cannot revive a tv show
to even a shadow of its former glory. Sure, it'd be nice, but so would
a reasonably decent film of DUNE. :-)

What? And you claim to be an "admitted sf lover"?
	Of the books published by Bantam, only Sondra Marshak & Myrna
Culbreath, and Charles Spano hadn't published anything before their
Trek novels (though Spano's collaborator Ted Cogswell did). Most of
the others are pretty heavy hitters. Don't tell me you've never seen
any non-Trek books by Joe Haldeman, Jack Haldeman, Gordon Eklund, or
David Gerrold, to name just a few.
	The Pocket Books run isn't quite as solid in precentages, but
is in experience: Vonda McIntyre, Diane Duane, John M. Ford, Greg Bear,
Bob Vardeman, Barbara Hambly, Lawrence Yep, and Jean Lorrah. A. C.
Crispin went on to write a couple "V" novels, but she also collaborated
with Andre Norton on a novel.
