Hello, world

We're in the process of bringing up ethernet between our 750 and
several other machines.  As I will be responsible for this effort,
I'd like a step-by-step procedure for doing this.  It would be nice
if I could start testing via software loopback.

Could you networking wizards send me some pointers?  If there is (and
I hope there is) sufficient interest, I'll summarize to the net.
