I am editing a diary of a Civil War solider. There is a reference to a "Colonel Fitch, who it will be recalled was one of the so-called Bogus Senators from Indiana." I suspect that the reference is to a dispute over an election in the the ten to fifteen years immediately before the Civil War. Does anyone know anything more about this subject, or can they suggest an historian with an special interest in Indiana state history. Maybe we do need a net.history group.
