I am, of course, interested in a comparison of both hardware and software (Apollo has a BSD4.2 implementation). Of particular interest is a comparison of the Apollo ring with a gateway to an Ethernet TCP/IP vs. SUNs that are connected directly to an Ethernet. Since both SUN and Apollo have several different models, the specific models you are comparing and their configuration should be indicated. I am interested in both the low-end diskless models and the high-end models with local disk and color. There have been some comments in net.works about SUN but I have not seen any comments (lately) about Apollo. Thus I am interested in comments about Apollo workstations (hardware, software, networking, reliability, service, delivery, etc) even without any comparisons to SUN. I will summarize the results in net.works. Yuval Tamir ARPANET/CSNET: tamir@Berkeley UUCP: ucbvax!tamir
