I have a great recipe for blueberry dumplings -- Mom's, of course. Dumplings: 2 cups self-rising flour ( or all-purpose, two tsps. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt) 2/3 cup sugar 2/3 cup shortening 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 cup milk cut shortening into flour until well blended, add sugar and cinnamon add milk -- should be sticky. drop into boiling blueberry mixture by rounded tablespoonfuls reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for twenty minutes -- DO NOT LIFT COVER DURING THIS TIME!! serve as is hot, with ice cream, whipped cream, or use your imagination Blueberry mixture: 1 quart blueberries 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 cup water bring to a boil and cook for twenty minutes or so, then add dumplings more or less sugar to your own taste. ENJOY! Bonnie ZZ
