I'm looking for a cake recipe. I know it by the name "Friendship Cake"
my mother-in-law says it's called a "Herman Cake" (don't know if the
spelling is right).  It uses a starter or base which you "feed"
with 1 cup flour, 1cup sugar and 1cup milk on every fourth day.(you don't
refrigerate it and it has to be stirred every day). On the tenth day you
feed it again and take 3 cups of the starter out and use the remainging
batter to make your cake. You divide the 3 cups of starter into 3
portions and give to 3 friends to start their own.

I actually have the CAKE recipe -- what I need is the STARTER or BASE recipe!
