I agree wholeheartedly with the base note of this discussion. I have been in expensive restaurants where parents ignore their child as it screams, runs around the place, and even looks over my shoulder as I eat. I think this is wrong. Yes, parents endure this all the time. I feel sorry for them (that's why my wife and I don't have any children yet), but at the same time, it's their responsibility to make sure that their child doesn't ruin the enjoyment of other people who are paying good money to "get away" from the noise or other displeasures of life. I like kids, and I respect and admire parents who take on the responsibility of raising one. I especially respect parents who remove their child from the restaurant (or other quiet, public places) when it becomes apparent that the crisis just won't pass. This isn't a flame - I just wanted to share that I'm not scum, and I feel the same way as the original person posting the original base note. Bill Gates
