There is, in this version, a game debugging tool (gdt). When you type gdt, you are prompted with a cryptic six-letter word and if you can reply with the correct answer you have access to the debugging tool itself. The question on the first turn is "DHNZUO" and the answer is "IDEQTQ". The answer to any particular question can be found by typing "incant, XXXXXX" where XXXXXX is the question on a separate terminal. The question appears to be a function of turn and actions performed. Does anyone out there know anything about the algorithm used to encode/decode the questions/answers? It obviously isn't a simple substitution (because of the two Q's in the answer where there is no double letter in the question) but what is it? Once in to gdt, HE gives you a list of commands; does anyone know how to use the commands, what format they print things out in, what the numbers mean etc? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Please respond by mail and a summary will be posted if it appears warranted. --Alex and Kay ...seismo!mcvax!ukc!ubu!snow!asz -- Virtue is its own punishment. ... mcvax!ukc!ubu!snow!kay
