As previously mentioned, those funny writings on the floor mark the
entrance to a little alcove which has a teleportation trap...and will
teleport you directly into the vault.  It's a good idea not to go in
there withough a wand of digging, a pick-axe or a scroll of teleportation,
though.  You can get the guard off your back by telling them you're
"Croesus" or "Kroisos", then the loot's yours.
