Its like forcing me to buy >... Actually, it makes getting asignments out a lot easier. A good example is when a college has a total of 6 terminals hooked up to a super-mini and everyone has to use it at approximately the same time. Massive bog. So, your instructor says "Yes, you can do assignments somewhere else, as long as you do it in Pascal, like everyone else." It's at that point that you find out how many flavors of Pascal there are. Not only that, but you can trade off tools and other good things if you are all running the same machines. If you have to standardize on a PC-like machine, you might as well lock in on a machine with 640x400 resolution and a display controller that will run color simply by plugging a color monitor in!
