You do not need any cartridges. 2) On the 800 you have to do sequence or something like that. On IBM machines, though you might want to consider doing D. 3) Yes, it does display on the screen what you type. 4) You can even put your mode in answer mode. The rest of standard characteristic modifications are available as well. 5) The upload/download might take a little playing around, though.
