As an experiment, I booted dos 3.1 from floppy. I then used 'sys' to transfer dos to the hard disk. 3.1 would boot from the disk. Then I tried booting 2.0 from floppy. Again I used 'sys' to transfer 2.0 to the hard disk. Now I can't boot from the hard disk. If I transfer 3.1 over, I can boot from the hard disk. The question is: why, after installing dos 3.1, is it impossible to install 2.0 so as to boot from it? (I realize I can get back to 2.0 by reformating the disk, but I would rather not).
