I am writing a masters thesis on Integrating Personal Computers into
the Corporation.  If you have information you would like to share on
this topic, (or know where I can obtain info), please drop me a note.

The objective of the thesis will be to produce an action plan on how
to integrate PC's into the corporation. This action plan will include
a checklist of information that needs to be obtained and decisions that
need to be made with appropriate timing (CPM type) of each action or
decision.  A list of do's and don't, pitfalls to avoid and areas to act
on, and discussion or solutions to several questions such as:

	- What planning was done before the decision to purchase PC's?
	- Why were PC's chosen to resolve what problems?
	- What will the PC's be used for (OA,AI,R&D,etc.)?
	- Who will decide on the HW/SW to purchase?
	- Who will support the PC's (backups, maintenance, updates)?
	- How will they communicate with the existing mainframe(s)?
	- How will training be handled?
	- How will computer security be dealt with (esp. sensitive data)?
	- If a group is formed to provide support, who will they report to
	  in the corporate structure and how will the group be funded?
	- Will there be a personal purchase plan implemented?
	- etc...etc...
