I haven't found any footwear more comfortable (and in Cambridge, they count as formal or casual wear!) The issue of ugliness is, I guess, a matter of taste; I like 'em. This topic has jogged a rather silly question that I have always wondered about, though never knew whom to ask: why do fewer men than women wear sandals? This seems to carry over into advertising, too: you'll rarely see an ad for men's sandals. What's this still doing in net.singles? Good question I guess... I'm copying it to net.misc as well. -- /Steve Dyer {decvax,linus,ima,ihnp4}!bbncca!sdyer sdyer@bbnccv.ARPA
