He has a very strong voice and lends a lot to the group's music. If anyone is interested, Tuxedomoon is a group that was with Ralph for a couple of years. They had three songs on Ralph's Subterranean Modern collection, and three Ralph Albums (Half-Mute, Desire, and a collection of songs from these albums and some singles called "A Thousand Lives by Picture"). In addition, they have released at least two albums on other labels (the aforementioned Holly Days and Suite en Sous-Sol) and a few singles as well. The group relies mostly on music, which is mostly synthesized with some fantastic guitar work. Vocals are used as additional instruments; at least, I can't say that they have that much meaning. They are kind of similar to modern poetry (which I can't make much sense of; then again, I liked the Attractions without Elvis Costello). Since the subject of the original letter was Magazine, I'll mention a coule of nice items I found over the years. I once found a copy of the original "Shot By Both Sides" single (b/w "My Mind Ain't So Open"). This version uses no keyboards; an extra guitar part is used instead, which makes the song much more powerful. Also, I found an album called "Back To Nature", which is a live album from the 1979 tour (during which I missed seeing them by two stupid days). The sound quality is pretty good (considering the general quality of bootlegs) and the band sounds great. David Elliott
