I think this changes the situation a little! This hypothetical situation is ridiculous anyway (as are most such situations). The "correct" way to handle this varies with the person you ask. To try to persuade another to see your point of view on such things as these is as ridiculous as trying to persuade a blue-eyed person to become green-eyed. Different upbringing, different social mores, etc. determine the reaction to this.
