Usually when I go to a bar (which isn't very often), I am either with
people I already know, and the major goal is conversation, or I am
there to LISTEN to the group that is playing the music (there seem
to be a lot more bars in the bay area that have live entertainment
than some other areas of the country).

I didn't used to dance at all, and then I didn't dance unless I was
pretty wasted, but now I can almost enjoy a couple of dances in an
evening?  Why?  How?  Well, there were these MOTOS that really liked to
dance, bu the main thing is letting the fact that it really is FUN
surpass the fact that its so SILLY! (This applies mostly to Rock type
dancing, rather than ballroom dancing (the latter, though less silly,
also requires that you know your partners better, and they are harder
to find, and if you have to think too much, it isn't as much fun...)

Sigh.
