It's one of those "swear by them" or "swear at them" I had a pair of Earth Shoes back when they were 'in' (I fell for the 'more natural' pitch, I admit). They were uncomfortable and remained uncomfortable. I wore them until I injured my back trying to move some furniture while wearing them. They went into the trash, needless to say. I've been the proud owner of a pair of Birkenstock sandals for over a year now. They're the most comfortable and long-lasting sandals I've ever worn; they were the only pair of shoes I wore from May 1984 through late October 1984 (until the weather got cool). I've had them on now since early April, and am on my second pair of soles. If you like sandals, check them out. They're well made, but expensive (mine cost ~55$). -- Cheers, Bill Ingogly
