Uh, yes. With my wife, in fact. I was involved in a fairly sorry version of a relationship with her in the mid-late seventies that (with a little help from her parents "active" advice) broke off before it had time to blow itself to smithereens. I then didn't see her (or even attempt it) for something on the order of about 3 years. When next I ran into her, she was engaged to another man (though the relationship had some problems of its own), so we saw each other only in social situations where there was no chance of any remotely romantic connection. When that relationship blew up, she was a bit hesitant about seeing *anyone*, and all I did was teach her to drive in this '75 Chevy Impala PT boat station wagon. She was going out with about 4 other men at the same time. Anyway, the relationship had a good chance to grow and deepen a bit freed of the constraints of romantic involvement (we had a chance to discover that we *enjoyed* each other's company), and a bit of space to sort out our respective versions of what happened, and what occurred in the interim period. I'm still a bit surprised at how easy it was to be forgiving-once I had a chance to see things from her side of it.> -- ________________________________________________________________________________ Once I was young:once I was smart:now I'm living on the edge of my nerves:-Japan Gregory Alan Taylor:162 Clark Hall:Cornell University:Ithaca,NY 14850:USA USENET: {cmcl2,decvax,ihnp4}!cornell!lasspvax!gtaylor ARPANET: gtaylor@lasspvax.arpa BITNET: gtaylor@crnlthry.bitnet ________________________________________________________________________________
