Lines: 51 Gosh, people meet in such interesting ways! Well, I had thought the original question was a "mail it in and I'll post a summary" question, but since now everyone has started up posting their interesting narratives, I guess I'll have to post mine directly if it's ever to reach the world out there. I first encountered my current SO when she was performing in a show at a local tourist attraction. I'm not generally impressed by celebrity types, but I didn't have much to do that day, so I went and watched this show. It was OK, but not exactly heartwarming or anything. Well, after the show, I went to this gizmo they have nearby that is basically an elevator you ride up on and see all around everywhere. Well, being a photography fanatic, I had my camera with me, and wanted to take some pictures since I figured I could see where I lived from up there. But the "hostess" in charge put me behind a pole (they kind of discriminate against single people at a lot of these places, I think, albeit unintentionally) and would not let me move, and I could not photograph much due to the reflections off the glass at the angles the pole forced. This was quite depressing, and in a rather dismal state of mood, I wandered back to the theatre, which I had seen from the air was now devoid of the milling crowds. Much to my surprise, there she was, looking at two children a couple had in a baby stroller. I sort of ambled around, looking at the architecture of the place (which, it was claimed, was "Grecian-inspired architecture," though it was hard to see how this was). Well, I was just photographing some interesting shadows cast by the beams overhead, when I heard this noise behind me; I turned around, and there she was! She just sort of stared at me, breathing kind of heavily. But then, much to my amazement, she swam up to the top of her tank, and sprayed about ten gallons of water over the edge of the tank, all over me! She repeated this about four times, until I was fairly soaked with salt water. She then just sort of looked at me and laughed. Well, the next thing I knew, she swam over to this sort of platform and crawled up out of the water, and started flapping her flippers and tail around. It was love at first sight! (well, second sight I guess.) Since then, I have been to see her many times. I must confess, though, that since she eats several hundred pounds of fish every day, and considers this the epitome of entertainment, that we seem to have some fundamental differences-of-interests. Also, she works with this WOTOS (whale of the opposite sex) who I think she is secretly seeing on the side. Oh well. That's life, I guess. -- Full-Name: J.
