My own impression of the goal (after seeing the replay several times) is that one cannot easily determine if the puck was intentionally deflected into the net. However, this does not mean I think the goal should be allowed. I feel the referee acted correctly, as it was not obviously apparent that the deflection was an accident, and it is better to disallow such goals than to start a precedent. Furthermore, I don't think having instant replay available for the referee would have helped much either, as goals like that can be argued by both sides for hours, and a quick decision is always required.
