I'm a Celtic fan. I admit it... I'm also a Laker fan, a Buck fan, and a Sixer fan. What bugs me is the exaggeration with which netters (no pun intended) ignor the pushing and shoving of their favorite team while castigating the Celtics. The Celtics play a very physical game but I don't think they play dirty. In a physical game, a lot of pushing goes on. There's nothing unusual about it. Players are trying to gain an advantage over their opponent when the ref isn't looking. You don't think Moses does that?? You don't think Rambis or McAdoo do that???? Face it... in varying degrees, the league is like that. If you don't like that kind of play, I have no argument with you. If that's your opinion, fine. But please realize that this is a matter of tastes. I have to wonder if your real problem with the physical kind of play is that the Celtics play it better??? You can't blame the Celtics for using this advantage against teams. Do celtic fans complain that the Lakers shouldn't be able to run since the Lakers do it better?? What we all dislike is when the physical play begins to border on violent (as when Moses elbowed McHale in the face during game 2). I agree that the Celtics get involved in (but don't necessarily instigate) alot of those kinds of situations. I don't like that stuff either. But elbows in the face and tackles are different from pushing off, scrambling for rebounds and loose balls. The latter is done merely to get an advantage over the opponent and all teams seek to exploit their advantages over opponents.
