Finger paintings come a long way <-:

I need to talk to remote workstations  to   run   a   distributed
minimum  GKS. I would like to keep as much of the common stuff as
possible in the host, and communicate to the  workstations  using
a  metafile   type  of  syntax. In pracice the workstations would
probably be some form of IBM PC *T.

It  occurs  to  me  that  smart  GKS   workstations  have  solved
this  problem.  Can   anyone  point  me  at such a workstation or
describe how such workstations talk to GKS?
