S and Virtual Memory sort of go hand in hand! We have S already and are very much in need of virtual memory to support it and other statistics applications (e.g., GLIM). Most porting problems with S, by the way, seem to have more to do with bugs in the f77 compiler than anything else. [I'd be interested in any evaluative comments on the PE System V f77. We are about to upgrade to System V or 4.2 and an f77 with fewer bugs would be a big argument in favour of the former.] --------------------- UUCP: {decvax,vax135,eagle,pesnta}!mulga!psych.uq.oz!derek ARPA: decvax!mulga!psych.uq.oz!derek@ucb-vax.arpa ACSnet: derek@psych.uq.oz Mail: Derek Austin Phone: +61 7 377 2275 Department of Psychology University of Queensland St Lucia 4067 AUSTRALIA
