The font that is (I think) used by default by the itroff software really *is* horrible disgusting swill, or at least has got one serious problem: the lowercase I is terrible. (Myself, I use TeX and the AM fonts, so I don't know any of the details, really. I just speak from experience of reading handouts printed with this font.) As far as printing engines go, the Imagen 8/300 is just fine. We haven't received a LaserWriter yet, but when we do, I'll probably just bring TeX up on it and get identical output anyway. . . . Chris
