Salary on the scale 7250 to 14925 p.a. (pounds sterling) plus USS/USDPS benefits. The department is actively developing its interests in computer applications in linguistics and now requires a member of staff with a strong background in natural language processing/ AI to extend its current research and teaching programmes in this area. Particular attention will be paid to applicants with research interests and experience in parsing. There are close ties at Reading between Linguistic Sci- ence and the Departments of Psychology and Computer Science, which also share a keen interest in the field of natural language. Important links with nearby research groups in industry are also being established.
