They claim that the noise (which is usually intermittent and only upon engagement) does not hurt the clutch or decrease its life. You can supposedly just ignore it. They have some replacements parts which MAY get rid of the noise, but it is not a sure thing. Plus, if you are outside the normal 12K / 12 month warranty you may have to pay for part or all of the the expensive (probably $300 + ) change yourself because the clutch is a 'wear item' and is not covered by the power train warranty. Your local district supervisor makes the final decision about whether to pay for it - it sounds like they would pay for part but not all if you complained enough. I have decided I can live with this - it's just a matter of trusting that they are telling the straight story. The noise has nothing to do with the bearings or anything like that and may come and go during the life of the car, according to the zone rep. Steve Spearman ihnp4!ihopb!spear
