The major reason why your rates go up for insurance is because the
Nice Men in the Funny Hats (namely Officer Friendly) have given you
a ticket. /A/ ticket can make your rates go up by 30%(!).. Somehow they
seem to think that driving fast on the freeways correlates to being
a spaz behind the wheel. I haven't hit /anyone/ and never collected an
insurance claim but because I have a couple tickets I'm paying through
the nose..

The only times I've been hit, I've been rear-ended by women drivers when
I was at a dead stop in traffic.
