Chicago - Computation Center Lines: 18 Most 79 Hawks had a cylinder gasket defect that was fixed under warrenty and thereafter for free. Mine was fixed twice and after about 12K miles it failed again. A little form-a-gasket did the trick for me (the bike was old anyway). Other than that at 12k miles the CDI failed ($180) and it needed new tires ($140) and another new chain and some brakes. I had my Hawk 400 for about 6 years and was very satisfied. I sold it last year for $750 with 12K miles (original price was $1250) and bought a Nighthawk 750. The Hawk 400 was my first bike and a good one Gary
