Our office used to be located on the ground floor of a five story office building in the southwest part of Orlando. There was this jerk with a mid-70's yellow Corvette who parked in one of the handicapped spots just about every day. Those spots were just outside my office window so it was easy to keep track of any regulars. One day, one of my officemates called the Orlando police to complain and about an hour later a police officer arrived and ticketed the asshole. Unfortunately, I missed him leaving the office so I didn't get to see his reaction to the ticket. We had gone out to verify that it was a citation and not a warning after the officer left. However this clown didn't get the message and continued to park there. About a week later we did the same thing and he got another ticket. After that he didn't park there any longer. The moral of this is that although this law is not widely enforced if you complain justice can be served. Also a couple of weeks ago when my wife and I were coming out of a mall walking to our car we noticed an Orlando police officer giving a ticket to two women who were parked in a handicapped spot. -- Bernie Dougan Perkin-Elmer Southern Development Center 2486 Sand Lake Road Orlando, Florida 32809 (305)850-1040 {decvax!ucf-cs, ihnp4!pesnta, vax135!petsd}!peora!bd
