Okay, here's my halon story:

One of our operators was in the ENGVAX machine room when some
person with a walkie talkie was nearby. He was standing *right under*
the spout when the walkie talkie triggered the smoke detector.
I don't know if he was looking up, but it was unpleasant either
way. (He's okay, by the way - *he* ain't no damn poodle!)

Now all of our machine rooms have large signs on outer doors:

TWO WAY RADIOS NOT ALLOWED BEYOND THIS POINT.
