Many men are very > afraid that by giving women more rights, they will lose some of their > rights. > > marie desjardins *** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** WHY - (am I naive or something?) - does anyone have to give up something ,or anything for that matter, to allow equality to a minority be it women blacks, jews, all of the above or other than the above? Equality - to me - seems like it should be just that and comprable worth has nothing to do with it. Perhaps the correct expression should be that the "MALE PRIVILEGE" etc. would have to be shared and so make it not a privilege or perhaps more of a privilege (defined as something special which must be earned as opposed to a right which generally does not have to be earned **historical exceptions noted - this is a gereralization after all** ) This view brings discrimination down to a simpler descriptive SELFISHNESS This is a trait best observed in children. I wonder - If the human race ever grows out of its childhood phase if this type of behavior will be either eliminated or controlled by a deliberate act of will? jeanette zobjeck ihnp4!ihlpa!zubbie
