I've seen a lot of people get really nasty, but never have I seen anyone threaten legal action. If people can't feel free to express their opinions without worrying about possible legal action, the net is practically worthless. If someone gets too obnoxious, there is always the much more moderate solution of removing them from the net. (This has been done in net.singles when someone suggested that another netter commit suicide. I believe that someone would have to do something at least that extreme to justify removing them from the net.) In a forum as likely to produce friction as net.politics, people are likely to call each other pea-brains, nitwits, fascists, etc. If you can't handle this without threatening legal action, you should probably be reading some other newsgroup, like net.jokes. It certainly doesn't justify doing away with the entire newsgroup. I am basing these remarks on what I have read here and on jj's previous posting. If something he(she??) said was taken out of context, I suggest he post whatever he really said to clear all this up. >> >>JJ >> > > >I post no apology. Sorry jj, I don't play by your rules.
