Lines: 16 As a long-time rogue (since it was first available on a PDP-11/70 here - version 3.6), I anxiously awaited HACK 1.0.2, expecting that it would supplant rogue in my gaming universe. So far, it really hasn't. First of all, the "human interface" isn't as nice as, say, the one Advanced Rogue 4.4 has - I can't say "Tell me what item n is" as I could with the 'I' command in advanced rogue. I must either know the class of the item or look at the whole list. Further, I have a lot of difficulty in the shops - at Friendly Fiend's I could always ask the price of something. In the shops in Hack I can't, although I grant there may be a way to do this I haven't figured out yet. Lastly, since I've only played the Knight or the Tourist, my experience is limited, but the above command deficiencies will stand across any character class. Perhaps the HACK authors can improve the "human interface" in a future release.
