I read this in the Boston Globe today, it took place in San Jose, CA:


A robbery suspect fled onto a junior high school athletic field and tried to
hide among the crowed in the bleachers, but the spectators turned out to be
police officers.

A police league softball game was being played Tuesday night on the school
diamond.

He was booked on a charge of armed robbery.
