It is my opinion, what Dave Berry is expressing in his letter, which is probably the same opinion the Miami Herald would hold, and what lies behind the principles of copyrighting in the first place, is that no one cares if an article is quoted with recognition! The purpose behind copyrighting is to prevent a person from making money from work which he did not create, and in essence stealing from the original author. It's a very complex issue, dealing with the conflict of sources and revenue, but it hardly pertains to the issue with rossj. There is such a word as exception. If you're at an intersection in the middle of the night, and your light is stuck on red, and has been for the last ten minutes, sure, it's illegal to pass the red light, but there's a matter of practicality. If a policeman pulls you over because you ran a red light, and you explained the situation to him, he will probably let you go. The same applies to rossj. The situation is so trivial that I don't even know why I'm replying to it. --Allen (apollo)
